My first Danville VA experience

My first experience with the V.A. Clinic of Danville, Il.

I first showed up early, which I believe shows the clinic that I am intentional about my care and that I am responsible and that I am not just there because I DESERVE the care.

After getting my enrollment transfered from Fayetteville, Ar I was not only told where I needed to go for my appt. but I was shown. I think that this is important because the clinic is rather large and it showed that the receptionist had respect for and cared about me. Very personal!!

Once I made it to my appt. I was still a half a hour early even after stopping by enrollment so the receptionist walked me to the cafe so I could get a bite to eat, because the doctor was still in with a patient. About 15 mins. later I showed up and discovered that the Station that I was pointed to was not an ordinary station that i was used to at Fayetteville. It was a dedicated area for OIF/OEF Veterans. They were very nice and personal. Once in with the nurse she began telling me about my medical history which I was impressed with. The time I was in the cafe she had been intentional about studying my records.

After my doctors appt. the nurse then walked me to the OIF/OEF Liaison team where she introduced me to my new team and they all already knew who I was and had already studied my file very impressive!!

In summary, I walked away from this clinic very satisfied not only because I knew I would be taken care of but every OIF/OEF Veteran who walked through the Danville clinics doors who were intentional about there care would be taken care of.
